Hey Cassandra, a bike would def be a good substitution. In fact, you know those old school Schwinn airdyne bikes with the handles that move? Those things are the bomb when it comes to using them for intervals--I'd say it's probably even more effective than running. For what you're going for (you don't have far to go at all), I'd try the Jessica Alba workout. You'll burn a truckload of cals and it won't take much for you to tighten up the stomach area. You can think of the runs/walks with your daughter as an added bonus, or if you really hit it hard, especially coming back up the hill...you can use that as one of your cardio days. Hope that answers your questions. Take care...

I have a question or two. First Ill tell you, right now I am 5'2" and 122. I have a 1 yr old daughter. I was at my ideal body when I got pregnant, weighing 105, flat stomach and decent muscle tone. I used to race BMX so luckily that muscle tone has stuck with me. Right before I had my daughter i lived where i could get to a tiny little gym and my workout was already alot like the one you have on here for Jessica, switching back and forth from weights to cardio, fast/slow. But because of a complicated C section you know they actually cut into your muscle, i am having a hard time getting rid of that belly (right). I am very interested in the Alba workout. I am going to get some dumbells. however i cant fit a treadmill in my house. I am wondering first if getting a stationary bike can be a good substitute for a tread, especially cause i think it would be easier on my kinda bad ankles /joints. Also, considering my belly is the only thing i really really am wanting to get rid of here, do you think the megan fox workout would be better? my diet is alreadly alot like jessicas but ive just got to stop making brownies or get rid of them out fo the house. Also, where in this or the megan workout would putting my daughter in the stroller and pushin her around outside fit in? i live on a lake, and to go to the water first its downhill then back home is uphill. right now i feel out of breath out of shape just doing that but i know just doing that wont help really very much with my belly, so how do I fit that in one of these workouts as possibly a substitute. I already do a kind of slow/ fast/slow thing. It will be a while till i could get a stationary bike and conditions just are not good for trying to get on what and put my daughter on the back.... I have to have her in my sight all day every day. ------------ I am so glad I found this, because truthfully I just used my IQ mixed with common sense and made up my own workout mixing treadmill bike weights bike weights treadmill stair stepper weights bike etc that kind of thing and it did work for me to get me down to that exact body i wanted b4 my baby. I had only just achieved the body I wanted within 6 months of getting pregnant! please let me know how a treadmill/bike sub would work and if you think the megan or jessica workout would be better for my needs.

Yes, this is a pretty solid workout. It does come down mostly to diet, so pay closest attention to mastering that (I'd suggest reading my cheat day and Xtreme fat loss posts for more info). Also, I've got some stellar workouts you can try right here on the blog (look under topics section to right of this post for examples).

You can def reach your goals by Jan...you don't have far to go. Hard work is DEF. the answer, though so congrats on figuring that out. There are no shortcuts!

Good call on the "busier" part, lol. Swamped is more like it, but I'm not complaining...I enjoy what I do. Congrats on the progress...if you want to speed things up, I'd suggest getting more aggressive with your diet plan. Read my cheat day and Xtreme fat loss diet posts for tips on how to cycle cals/carbs to boost metabolism and burn more fat throughout each week. It's powerful stuff, I promise. Thanks for the update. Talk soon...

;) I wna update & grab more help if possible. I've been doing this workout consistently, every alternate day since I last informed. Stamina has definitely increased. My running speed have increased to 6km/h &9.5km/h(cardio1), &5.5km/h and 10.5km/h for th intervals (cardio2&3). circuits and core as well. I do see some changes alr, but i feel tt progress is still kinda slow. Is thr any way to speed up faster, BURN all my fats away even extra faster? just hit me with all the workouts, i'll do it! Or you think i should just be patient and carry on with this... ... for the next whole months of my entire life until i am satisfied with my body...
(I've been eating really healthy. I've not been eating any white carbs, or fried or sweets/chocolates.)
You seem busier lately I'll wait for your reply:) Thank you.
