Protein Pancakes For a Lean Body
Protein Pancakes Recipe For a Smokin’ Hot Body…by Brad Campbell
It’s a tough question to answer, but if you asked me what my all time favorite food was…I’d probably have to go with pancakes.
I love to eat all types of food – Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean, bar food (guess that’s American, lol), etc – but ever since I was a lil guy, I’ve been obsessed with breakfast food, especially pancakes.
Crappy thing is that up until a few months ago, I was limited to having my pancakes on my one weekly cheat day, for fear of having most of those delicious carbs being converted directly into stomach fat.
Not cool if you’re trying to build a lean body with the kind of ripped abs that make you look really good naked.
I finally found a healthy recipe for protein pancakes that you can eat for breakfast, even on your ‘clean eating’ days, without worrying about adding inches to your waistline.
This delicious concoction will minimize the spike in blood sugar (normally seen with carb-loaded pancakes), which keeps insulin levels low and prevents fat storage.
I like to make these lean body protein pancakes on a heavy weight training day, to give my big guns plenty of ammo, if you’re picking up what I’m putting down…
Lean Body Protein Pancakes:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 scoop Prograde Protein Powder
3 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 cups skim milk
3 egg whites
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp. wheat germ
2 tbsp. cornmeal
4 tbsp. bran
Heat skillet or griddle to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix until large lumps disappear. Pour about 1/4 cup batter into hot skillet. Flip those babies over when edges look cooked and bubbles begin to break on the surface.
* Feel free to add 1/2 cup blueberries/raspberries for antioxidants and extra flavor. Also, I like to top with 1 tsp. natural peanut butter…try to AVOID using syrup and butter…suck it up.
Give these guilt-free protein pancakes a try one of these mornings and experience a great tasting breakfast that will keep your waistline tight and your muscles rock hard.
