[...] I figured Leo probably isn’t the only one wondering how to achieve this feat. My advice in response to this question is probably a little more cautious than the average trainer, simply because I’m strongly biased towards a body type that is lean and ripped and therefore very low in body fat percentage.
Hey Sandy - excellent question. Firstly, I do think the cheat/fast day will help you to achieve faster and more consistent fat loss...so give that a try exactly as I outline and let me know how it goes. Next, I tell all my Inner Circle and Platinum clients to expect a minimum of 1% of their body weight lost in pure fat each and every weeek. So a 175 lb person should lose at least 1.75 lbs in fat each week. If everything is done perfectly, one could lose 3-4 lbs in a week, but of course it's more likely to see 1-3 lbs.

Note that some ppl will see the scale go down by more than this, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are losing that much 'fat.' Most big numbers mean losses in water weight and also some loss in lean muscle mass, which isn't good.

So in a month, it's realistic to lose 4 on up to about 14 lbs, depending on how disciplined you are.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey Brad - The lowest body fat I've had was 19% and that was a time i lived at the gym and was only eating healthy. I was happy with my appearance but still wanted more defined abs. Right now I'm just trying to get back to that 19% but hoping this time I can get it lower...I'm not sure I can maintain 13 but thinking maybe a 16-17 might be more realistic for me. I'm hoping the cheat/fast days will help me get there :) How much body fat though do you think is a reasonable amount to lose in month? I've read contradictory information so I have no idea if I need to amp things up or just be more realistic and be patient.

Hey Lewie - you read my mind - he's been on my "hit list" for a while now. I agree, that guy looks amazing and is definitely lean body certified. I'll be doing a post about him shortly. Good to hear that you're going for the totally shredded look as well...for guys, I just don't think there's any other way to go. Thanks for the feedback...

Hey Joseph - nice, so you've added a good amount of lean muscle...now it's time to unveil the masterpiece and get completely ripped. I think 5% is an excellent goal...just be prepared to work...those last few %'s are killer. Keep me updated on your progress and holla if you have any questions.
You'll get there.

Hi Brad! My goal is 20% by the end of March. I agree with you--I want to be toned, but still curvy. Personally, I think that's sexier for women. I'm currently at 23% (down from 27%), so I'm about half way there! Love your blog!

Hi Brad, I discovered your site last week and spent the weekend putting together a new diet based on the celebrity diets that you post
Today is the first day and everything is going well so far but I'm taking one day at a time and will hopefully post positive results in the future
My current body fat level is around 13%, I have maintained this level whilst adding 14kg over the past 3 years but I'm now trying to really take my physique to the next level and the goal is reach 5%
Fingers crossed

Im going for 3% to 5%. You should do a post about the asian actor Rain from Ninja Assassin. His body in that is right up there with Brad Pitt and Cam Gigandet. In fact he almost looks like a combined form of them put together. Check out some youtube videos of his workouts and let me know if you think he is worthy
