[...] To be honest (like I always am), it’s pretty tough to answer that question. Sure, there are some fundamental differences in terms of the kinds of exercises used, the amount of weight, rep ranges, rest periods, etc…but the main difference has to do with mindset.
Hey Katherine - the best advice I can give you is to conquer one day at a time. Too much thinking about the long road ahead can be defeating in itself. Focus on having an ideal day of eating TODAY and a great workout TODAY. Then, tomorrow when you wake up...it's just another 24-hr battle. I know that when I dwell on how far I've got to go, it's overwhelming. When I break it down into much smaller tasks and make daily to-do/goal lists, I've become much more successful at fitness and everything else...

I'll try to keep the inspiration coming. Hang in there, I'm here to support you :)

Brad, I just discovered your website.
I am having a hard time getting my mindset right.
About 10 years ago, I stopped taking care of my body weight. I ate pizza and fast food and didnt think of consequences and I began to not exercise (thinking it is too hard). I gained weight gradually, (now about 90 lbs overweight) and everytime I start to lose I stop myself with negative thinking and feel it overwhelming because the excess weight is not shedding fast enough and I fall back to my habits!
Your sight is inspiring and full of hope for me. I wish you lived near me and I could train with you.

How do I start again? How do I keep a steady pace?
Katherine

Yo Alex. It gave me goose bumps the first time I watched it. I'm definitely going to look into getting that audio. I've seen some short interviews with the real character and he's such an amazing guy. Nothing more motivating than surrounding yourself with the stories, words, etc of people who've really overcome adversity and accomplished amazing things. Thanks for the comment, hope you're doing well.

Brad,
I've seen this video before, and I LOVE it. I actually have a copy of it on my Desktop that I watch periodically. If you get a chance, the real-life guy that Will Smith plays in that movie came out with an audio CD. He's actually a big motivational speaker now. Anyway, I've listened to the audio CD a number of times. What most people don't know is, that "The Pursuit of Happiness" doesn't portray the REAL life of Will Smith's character. It was actually WORSE than what the movie portrays. If you ever get to listen to the audio CD of Will Smith's real life character, bring the Klennex, because it will tug at your heart strings.
Thanks for the inspiration!
