Fat Loss Diet and Nutrition Post…by Brad Campbell
In my current quest to get ripped without weights, I’m putting myself through some torturous bodyweight workouts. To make things worse, I’m doing them either in my 120 degree garage or out back by the pool.
Not really sure which is worse, since Arizona spits straight fire this time of year.
For some sick reason, I seem to enjoy it the most when I do my workouts under the most extreme conditions. I’ve always been sorta all or nothing and right now I’m all in like a stack of chips.
Only, unlike poker, I can’t lose in this lean body game. And neither can YOU.
The last few posts I’ve been writing some slick workout routines you can use outside of the gym: Twice a Day Workout (cardio workouts that call for equipment can be easily subbed with outdoor alternatives, like running, walking, road biking, running bleachers, swimming, etc) and Extreme Fat Loss Workout (very effective and surprisingly difficult bodyweight circuit routine).
To keep things balanced like a beam (damn, I’m just full of word play today) though, let’s switch gears back to diet. And rather than preaching at you about fat loss dieting principles, I thought I’d bring it back to 3rd grade and do a lil show and tell…
So here was today’s “Big Boss” fat loss lunch (and dinner):
—> Ingredients: 6 eggs, 2 celery sticks, 1 tbsp light mayo, lettuce, 2 slices whole wheat bread (optional)
—> Directions: hard boil the eggs and allow to cool, then dice celery, mix and mash baby baby
—> For lunch: toast 2 slices of wheat bread, add half of the egg salad mixture and top with lettuce to complete sandwich; for dinner, eat the second half plain (consider water or green tea as a “side”)
—> Rough breakdown:
Calories: 365 | Protein: 25 g | Carbs: 19 g | Fat: 21 g (*Includes bread)
Sounds kinda lame, I agree, but it tastes really good and more importantly…gives you the body you’re out to get. It’s a good idea to hard boil a whole buncha eggs at once and that way you have ‘em around for quick lean muscle-friendly snacks.
