Weight Loss For Men Under 30 — Fat Loss Workout Routine… by Brad Campbell

weight loss for men under 30For men under 30 who’re looking to lose weight quickly, the workout and diet parameters aren’t going to change much.

In other words, fat loss is a pretty simple concept (although very hard to carry out, sometimes) and the rules don’t change much for men of different ages…

The one main aspect that may or may not vary for men under 30, as opposed to men over 30, is intensity level of your workouts…

The reason I say “may or may not” change in regards to age, is because it still depends on your specific starting point, in terms of fitness level and overall conditioning… plus, any specific injuries, exercise preferences and/or limitations, successes/failures in your past workout history, and so on…

Basically, although the general thought is that a weight loss workout plan for men under 30 should be more hardcore and include higher output levels, that’s not always going to be the case.

Heck, I used to train for cross country with a 50-something year old guy who freakin’ kicked my butt all up and down the road.  ;-)  This guy could definitely out-work most guys half his age.

Okay, enough rambling — let’s take a look at a sample workout routine that I’d suggest for the average dude under 30 years old who’s trying to produce fast weight loss, while avoiding plateaus…

Weight Loss For Men Under 30 — Sample Workout Routine:

Here’s a simple (but challenging) fat loss workout you can do from home, with minimal equipment, and it won’t take much more than 25 minutes to complete.

Grab your Gymboss Timer and Powerblock adjustable dumbbells, find a small, open area of space and let’s rock out…

After a brief warm up, you’ll be doing two tri-sets, with a break in between each — the workout routine will look like this: exercise A, exercise B, exercise C, rest, exercise A1, exercise B1, exercise C1, rest… repeat entire circuit 2-4 times, depending on fitness level…

Each exercise will be done for time, rather than reps — to promote weight loss due to an elevated metabolism post-workout, set your Gymboss to 50 seconds for both the work and rest periods… and each exercise and resting period will therefore be 50 seconds in duration…

EXERCISES:

A) Dumbbell reverse lunge – holding db’s, step back with one leg, into a lunge, back to start position and continue to alternate legs

B) Dumbbell bent over row – using underhand grip, and bent over at waist using good posture, alternate arms to perform rows

C) Dumbbell push press – with dumbbells at shoulder level, squat down until knee joint forms a 90-degree angle, drive off heels and perform shoulder press upon reaching top postion

******************* (Rest 50 seconds)

A1) Close grip push up – place hands just inside shoulders and perform perfect close grip push ups, pointing elbows straight back and making sure to really engage the triceps, especially in peak position

B1) Tuck jumps – jump explosively off both feet, bringing knees up and into your chest in mid-air, landing softly on balls of your feet, then springing back into next jump as fast as possible

C1) Wall sits – place back against the wall, form 90-degree angle at knee joint and hold on for dear life… hold db’s at side if you can

******************* (Rest 50 seconds, then repeat entire circuit 2-4 more times)

I recommend picking a fairly light weight for your Powerblock dumbbells and keep it constant throughout — actually, you HAVE TO keep the weight constant (no time to waste changing it up in between exercises), so start with a light weight that allows you to make it through each weighted exercise for the entire 50 seconds with proper form.

Don’t worry about going too light — the intensity of this weight loss workout routine, especially when you hit the plyometric jumps, will overcome everything else.  Record the weight used, as well as how many total circuits you completed, and try to add more circuits first, and then more weight (second), as your fitness level progresses.
