<p>I&#8217;m writing you this letter to kindly suggest a change in the fashion statement you just made at my local gym.  As you hammered out 75 sets of t-bar rows using nearly every single 45-lb plate in the entire building, I couldn&#8217;t help but notice the neon yellow string tank top you were sporting.</p>

<p>I wanted to let you know that string tank tops paired with tight, tapered windbreaker pants is highly infuriating and may be sending the wrong signal.  Or, perhaps it&#8217;s sending the appropriate signal, but other gym-goers shouldn&#8217;t have to deal with that shit.</p>
<p>After all, nothing screams &#8220;<em>Hey, look at me&#8230;I&#8217;m a big dumb meathead!</em>&#8221; louder than some dude wearing a string tank top.  <strong>String tank tops make me want to gouge my eyes out</strong>.  I&#8217;m shocked that anyone would ever wear these things.  Apparently, you <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/2009/09/17/meatheads/">meatheads</a> think it&#8217;s cool to show off your over-sized back muscles.  I&#8217;d have to disagree.</p>
</p>

<p>There&#8217;s just something nasty and irritating about seeing a 215 lb man with a little spaghetti strap-looking string of cotton running down the middle of his back, allowing the world to see his lumpy lats.  Gross.</p>
<p><a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/11/string-tank-tops-gouge-eyes-out/String-Tank-Tops.jpg" class="thickbox no_icon" rel="gallery-2623" title="String Tank Tops"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2625" style="margin: 10px 12px;" title="String Tank Tops" src="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/11/string-tank-tops-gouge-eyes-out/String-Tank-Tops.jpg" alt="String Tank Tops" width="216" height="317" /></a>Leave something to the imagination, please.  No one wants to stare at your thick-ass back and you need to get that thing waxed anyways.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s understandable that with your extremely limited range of muscle-bound-motion, you couldn&#8217;t reach it with a razor, but couldn&#8217;t that guy who yells at you and slaps you in the face between sets get it for you?</p>
<p>And don&#8217;t worry, the staged grunting, careful selection of <em>only</em> exercises that allow you to stack on the maximum amount of plates, and the purposeful dropping of that ungodly amount of weight after each of your seventy-five sets of two reps, is sufficient enough to send the message that you&#8217;re by far the strongest douche in the gym.</p>
<p>In other words, we get it.  You can lift a shit-ton of weight for two repetitions, but couldn&#8217;t run to the end of the dumbbell rack if your life depended on it, nor could you reach up and grab a hundred dollar bill if I held it tauntingly just six inches above your fat head.  Quite impressive.</p>
<p>It is my hope in writing you this letter that you might consider toning down your animal-like behavior just a notch or two on the meathead dial.  I&#8217;d strongly encourage you to start by burning all twenty-seven string tank tops that you own &#8211; yes, even the hot pink one &#8211; and invest in some loose-fitting tee shirts&#8230;you know, those things that all the other guys are wearing at the gym&#8230;</p>
<p>If you could grant me this one favor, it&#8217;d sure be a huge step towards me not purposely taking my own vision the next time I visit our gym for a functional workout that <em>actually</em> allows me to perform better at everyday activities.  Yes, I could come at a different time, but I&#8217;ve already tried this avoidance tactic and your six hour marathon workouts (well, eight hours if I include mirror flexing time) make it impossible to escape your presence.</p>

<p>In order to prevent meathead behavior withdrawal syndrome (MBWS), we&#8217;ll address the tapered pants, beastly grunting and earthquake-worthy slamming of weights at a future date, after ashes from the burning of your neon string tank top collection has settled.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">If you don&#8217;t know what&#8217;s wrong, it&#8217;s kinda hard to fix it, right?  If you&#8217;re having troubles achieving your ideal body, most often times it has nothing to do with you selecting the wrong workout or diet plan and everything to do with you not having the correct mindset.  So if you&#8217;re dying to get a lean body and wondering why you&#8217;re not getting anywhere, I encourage you to start spending some time on that big brain of yours.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">

<p style="text-align: left;">Whether it&#8217;s reading just ten to fifteen minutes a day of an uplifting book or watching a motivational video or speech&#8230;or just spending more time around positive, successful people and less time around negative, energy-zapping complainers&#8230;you&#8217;ll begin to notice almost immediate changes in your thought process.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This is BIG, because once you start to think differently, you start to act differently.  And guess what happens when you start acting differently &#8211; you got it, you start to see different (better) results.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">If you&#8217;re tired of carrying excess body fat and really want to sculpt a hard body that belongs on the beach in as skimpy of a swimsuit as possible (can I get an eww-wee?), then sure, you need to start doing things differently.  The problem is that most people skip the most crucial step of reprogramming their thoughts and jump right into switching things up (e.g. starting a new <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/category/cardio-workouts/">cardio workout</a> or <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/2010/03/10/xtreme-fat-loss-diet/"><em>xtreme fat loss diet</em></a>), but without changing their outlook.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This leads to a temporary improvement (at best) with an end result that&#8217;s always going to be the same&#8230;because in the end, your mind is going to direct your behavior to match your thoughts, beliefs and whatever negative crap you&#8217;re absorbing from the environment around you.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I&#8217;m going to make it easy for you to complete your &#8220;mindset homework&#8221; I assigned you, by posting some highly motivating blog posts from time to time, so that you start to open yourself up to new ideas, better ways of thinking and greater opportunities.  Here&#8217;s one from the ultra successful actor Will Smith.  This guy gets it.  Start thinking like the former <em>Fresh Prince</em> and you&#8217;ll <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com">get a lean body</a>, make more money or accomplish any other goal you may have.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">I loved how Will says we generally make things more complex than they really are.  Everyone wants to find that special secret.  Nobody thinks it really <em>can </em>be <em>that easy</em>.  This really holds true in fat loss and changing your body.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">And that analogy he gave about not being afraid to die on the treadmill was straight fire.  Whether you want the best body, the biggest bonus or whatever else, you&#8217;ve simply got to be willing to outwork everyone else.  The average person is just too damn willing to step off that treadmill and accept defeat.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Now if you watched this video and thought it was dumb and are wondering what it has to do with you getting a lean body, then you&#8217;re probably one of the people that needs a change in mindset the most.  Successful people think differently than everyone else &#8211; they think better.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Like Will Smith says, <strong>it pays to be irrational and unrealistic when you&#8217;re thinking about your life goals</strong>&#8230;because if you&#8217;re thinking realistically, you&#8217;re going to act realistically, and if you act realistically, you&#8217;re going to end up with very mediocre (average) results.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">We&#8217;ve talked a lot about using the <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/2009/12/12/cheat-day-for-rapid-fat-loss/">cheat day</a> to bump dwindling leptin levels and basically prevent a nasty cascade of events that would otherwise take place in response to prolonged dieting.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This series of internal &#8220;anti-starvation&#8221; responses actually works against your fat loss efforts, leading to burnout and eventual failure.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The key to <strong>extreme fat loss</strong> week after week is to outsmart the body.  Step one is, of course, the <strong>cheat day</strong>.  Step two is following this cheat day up with a <strong>fast day</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This makes perfect sense, as your body is currently revved up and ready to burn serious rubber (I mean blubber), thanks to the strategic cheat day.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">By immediately creating a large calorie deficit the next day, you can really cash in on a &#8220;fresh-to-death&#8221; metabolism.  So why not create the largest calorie deficit possible by using a total fast day (water and green tea <em>only</em>) and consuming zip, zero, zilch, nothing, nada?</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Not only does the post-cheat day fast give you an opportunistic method of attacking stubborn fat stores at an ideal time, but there are many other benefits associated with this fast day.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">
<p><span id="more-2593"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">For example, although it can be a little tough mentally, the <strong>fast day</strong> actually teaches you to gain better control over your cravings.  By intentionally going without food for at least 24 hours, you&#8217;ll prove to yourself that it actually <em>is</em> possible to maintain discipline in the face of intense desires to indulge in your favorite foods.  This added confidence and willpower helps you stay true to your fat loss diet the remaining days of the week.</p>
<p>A fast day also improves circulation and increases your body&#8217;s ability to eliminate toxins.  Theoretically, this means that you&#8217;re less likely to get sick, suffer from illnesses and it may even help to slow down the aging process.  By giving your digestive system a much deserved break, you&#8217;ll free up energy that can be used to to clean and repair.  Makes sense, right?</p>
<p><a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/10/xtreme-fat-loss-diet/Xtreme-Fat-Loss-Diet-Review.jpg" class="thickbox no_icon" rel="gallery-2593" title="Xtreme Fat Loss Diet Review"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-2601" style="margin: 10px 12px;" title="Xtreme Fat Loss Diet Review" src="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/10/xtreme-fat-loss-diet/Xtreme-Fat-Loss-Diet-Review.jpg" alt="Xtreme Fat Loss Diet Review" width="320" height="259" /></a>One of the raddest and baddest benefits of using a fast day is the laser-like focus and increased energy you&#8217;ll experience.  In fact, as I write this <em><strong>Xtreme Fat Loss Diet</strong></em> blog post, I&#8217;m about two-thirds of the way through today&#8217;s fast (I had my cheat day yesterday) and I can&#8217;t even describe how clear, refreshed and bomb diggity-ish I&#8217;m feeling right about now.</p>
<p>As you can see, there are lots of perks to using a fast day &#8211; the biggest of which being extreme fat loss that just doesn&#8217;t stop&#8230;I&#8217;m assuming this is cool with you.</p>
<p>As with anything, the fast day is <em>not</em> without downsides.  I&#8217;m not going to lie &#8211; especially after an all-out cheat day, the first few hours will probably include hunger pangs that can get pretty intense.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll have to dig deep and grind through this early phase.  After doing so, it tends to get easier and easier throughout the day.</p>
<p>You may also feel a little lightheaded and dizzy at times.  Those on blood pressure, prostate or certain other medications should not utilize the fast day without first discussing it with your doctor.</p>
<p>Those of you who&#8217;re concerned about muscle loss during the fast day shouldn&#8217;t worry.  Thanks to raised leptin levels and a surplus of calories and protein from the preceding cheat day, and combined with the fact that you&#8217;re following a strategic fat loss workout plan&#8230;loss of lean muscle tissue will not be an issue.</p>
<p>As you can see, with the exception of a few select cases, <strong>the fast day is a phenomenal tool that should be built into your extreme fat loss diet</strong>.  To be exact, the fast day should be used immediately following a high calorie cheat day, which allows you to &#8220;double dip&#8221; into the fat loss sauce I just served you&#8230;ya dig?</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">This will get categorized under <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/category/weight-training-workouts/">weight training workouts</a> and <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/category/workouts/">fat loss workouts</a>, but it&#8217;ll probably feel more like a <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/category/cardio-workouts/">cardio workout</a>.  It&#8217;s also a little longer in duration, so lace those shoes up tight, grab your running watch (or just follow my lead) and let&#8217;s start chiseling that one thing we all hate &#8211; FAT.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Choose to use this highly metabolic exercise by itself for an entire workout, or combine it with other exercises for a longer, hybrid-like workout.  Either way, you&#8217;ll see why this exercise is so powerful after a set or two.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Of course, I assumed it was going to be yet another half-ass fitness program put together by some uneducated meathead who claims the product will transform you into a lean and ripped hunk/hottie without having to invest any effort whatsoever.  In other words, I thought TACFIT Commando would be a typical ebook that lacked in quality and over-delivered in hype and ridiculous claims.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">However, the beeping noise on my internal BS radar began to slow the deeper I got into the sales copy.  As I continued to read, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the principles this bodyweight training program was based around mirrored almost exactly the same philosophies I preach to you guys every day here on <em>TopFatLossTrainer</em>.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">When I got to the end of the sales page, I thought:  &#8220;I should contact the author and see if he&#8217;ll let me test drive this program to see if it&#8217;s as good as it sounds.&#8221;  So I hit him up on Facebook and within 15 minutes he had given me an all access pass inside the TACFIT Commando program.  Now, I don&#8217;t tell you that so that you&#8217;ll go and do the same thing.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This program costs money and the fact that I run a blog that gets thousands of visitors from over 100 countries each day is what allowed me to get the free insider&#8217;s look (because if I <em>did</em> like the program and gave it a positive shout out, this would be great for team TACFIT Commando).</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/02/tacfit-commando-bodyweight-workout-review/TACFIT-Commando-Reviews.jpg" class="thickbox no_icon" rel="gallery-2516" title="TACFIT Commando Reviews"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-2526" style="margin: 10px 12px;" title="TACFIT Commando Reviews" src="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/02/tacfit-commando-bodyweight-workout-review/TACFIT-Commando-Reviews.jpg" alt="TACFIT Commando Reviews" width="265" height="399" /></a>And speaking of mission, in case you hadn&#8217;t noticed by the name of the product, <strong>TACFIT Commando</strong> is based around the exact same training methods used by special ops personnel, SEALs, bodyguards, MMA fighters, firemen, etc.  The first thing that struck me about this program when I started tearing into it was the uniqueness.  Instead of reading about exercises and workouts, the manual lists tasks and missions.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This special ops theme is consistent throughout.  Oh, and I should mention that it&#8217;s not just some make-believe, fancy schmancy theme that was cleverly thought up&#8230;the author is an accomplished fighter who trains the aforementioned warriors to handle any scenario they may face in their respective profession (we&#8217;re talking about the heroes putting their life on the line for our freedom).</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">If <em>you&#8217;re</em> the guy in charge of training <em>these</em> soldiers, you&#8217;ve got my attention.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">BUT, would his TACFIT Commando program be appropriate for someone like myself who&#8217;s got no military background and who&#8217;s biggest career danger is having his computer crash without backing up his most recent blog post?  I was determined to find out&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Sunday night I read the entire TACFIT Commando training manual so that I&#8217;d know exactly what the program entails.  Monday and Tuesday I spent much of the day watching all the videos, trying out several workouts and &#8216;playing&#8217; with the bonuses.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Overall, I definitely give TACFIT Commando my <em>TopFatLossTrainer</em> stamp of approval</strong>.  After all, this program is essentially everything I preach, minus the dumbbells/kettlebells and plus some seriously challenging &#8220;special op&#8221; bodyweight exercises that I&#8217;ve honestly never even heard of before.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The system contains 3 months worth of missions (workouts) and each mission has 3 different levels, making it usable by pretty much any fitness level.  But I have to admit, even the beginner level (called &#8220;recruit level&#8221;) workouts were humbling for yours truly.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">To me, that&#8217;s a good thing &#8211; I like to be challenged and enjoy kicking my own ass with the goal of &#8216;conquering&#8217; a certain level and being able to step up to the next; for others, who don&#8217;t like a good challenge and who&#8217;re unable to dig deep and push themselves during workouts, this wouldn&#8217;t be the best program for you.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Remember, any program that is shorter in duration can only work when intensity is applied.  You&#8217;re not going to lose fat by &#8216;dogging&#8217; a fifteen minute workout.  TACFIT Commando is no magic bullet, and doesn&#8217;t claim to be&#8230;so please don&#8217;t purchase this training system if that&#8217;s what you&#8217;re after.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Additionally, if you&#8217;re not into the whole special ops theme that the material is presented in, then TACFIT Commando is <em>definitely</em> NOT for you.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">But if  you&#8217;re looking to sculpt a ripped James Bond-like physique and have the athletic and performance abilities to back up the bod&#8230;and if you&#8217;re willing to push yourself to new limits and practice great discipline with a fresh new program that&#8217;s unlike anything you&#8217;ve ever tried before&#8230;then TACFIT Commando may very well be the yin to your yang.</p>

<p>What I&#8217;m digging about Rain&#8217;s physique is his proportions, symmetry, awesome <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/2010/01/31/bonus-workout-vtaper-exploder-routine/">v-taper</a> and impressive leanness.  He&#8217;s managed to create a ripped body that emulates athleticism and power, but without stacking on ridiculous amounts of bulky muscle mass.  Rain has the <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/2009/11/03/brad-pitt-fight-club-workout-diet-plan/">Brad Pitt <em>Fight Club</em> body</a> going on, for sure.  Here&#8217;s a pic showing his progression from when he first started training for <em>Ninja Assassin</em>, up through the filming of the movie&#8230;</p>

<p>So what&#8217;s the top secret Rain workout routine that allowed him to look so fly for his role as Raizo in <em>Ninja Assassin</em>?  Well, rather than listing some cheesy workout plan that&#8217;s probably just made up by shady website owners looking to sell you supplements that&#8217;ll &#8216;magically&#8217; give you a ripped body like Rain&#8230;I&#8217;ve got something even better.</p>
<p>I found a couple of videos that show Rain during his actual workouts in preparation for the <em>Ninja Assassin </em>flick.  Now we <em>know </em>these are legit.  Take a look at the types of exercises and techniques his trainers used during the workouts&#8230;I think you&#8217;ll notice that the &#8220;Rain workout&#8221; is built around many of the exact same <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/category/advanced-fat-loss/">advanced fat loss</a> and <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/category/build-lean-muscle/">muscle building</a> strategies I recommend to all my <em>TopFatLossTrainer</em> readers.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Finally, some <em>truth</em> when it comes to how celebrities get incredibly lean and ripped for their movie roles.  Notice how Rain was describing his workout routine as one of the most challenging and demanding things he&#8217;d ever been put through?  He trained SIX hours a day for SIX months to accomplish the <a  href="http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/2009/12/24/body-transformation-contests-rules/">total body transformation</a> shown above.  Granted, 5 of those hours were devoted to fighting technique for the movie, but think about the obscene amount of calories Rain burned through each day during these workouts.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Creating an exceptional body requires exceptional efforts and there are NO quick fixes, other than training and dieting smarter, harder and with greater focus.  Here&#8217;s another Rain workout video that shows even more of his training sessions (some of it&#8217;s in English and some is narrarated in Korean&#8230;but it&#8217;s still a killer video that shows Rain &#8220;in the trenches,&#8221; just like I promote with my garage workouts).</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">You can see that Rain managed to get cut up without fancy equipment and without having to complete every workout in a state of the art gym or training facility.  I&#8217;m not saying there&#8217;s anything wrong with training at a gym&#8230;I&#8217;m just driving home the point that a little dedication, mixed with some imagination (and very basic fitness equipment), can go a long ways.  Whether you&#8217;re working out entirely from home, only at the gym or a combination of both&#8230;the only thing that stands in the way of you building your own Rain hard-body is YOU.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Rain&#8217;s workout had him performing full get-ups and combining three of my favorite moves (the burpee, the dumbbell push-up into one-armed row combo and the push press) into one giant, lean body certified movement.  Very cool and very effective.</p>
